So tonight after dinner Mike, Piero and I set out to find the tennis courts here on Maui. Through Jeff Griggs we learned that they were up pass the mall, which means it’s about a mile walk from the ship. We knew we could go at night because Jeff had told Rance that the courts were lit and in fact I thought I could see the lights while sitting on the lanai eating dinner at the back of the ship.

It was a perfect night, and we hustled our buns to get there all of us excited about the prospect of playing at night in the cool air. Cutting through the mall and following Jeff’s directions we came upon the tennis courts, fully lit, we were pumped. Just as we head towards the courts all of the lights in the entire park go out. I look at my watch, 9:30pm. Now we know, we can start a little earlier next week. We still tried to hit the ball around a few times, but it was a futile effort. We couldn’t see anything, but we did get a good laugh at ourselves at the attempt.

In other news, I lost my phone last week in Kauai. I contacted T-Mobile right away and they were fantastic and waived my time frame for an upgrade so I could get the newest Blackberry. And then…a very nice guy contacted me through Mike to tell me he had found my phone and I could pick it up this week when we came back to the island. He was so sweet, I couldn’t believe someone hadn’t swiped it. I am going to pick it up, but now it will just be a back up in case I lose my brand new fancy, schmancy Blackberry.
